Spirit Mountain Casino
Mater Engineering has performed a variety of engineering services for the Spirit Mountain Development Corporation, an economic development branch of the Confederated Tribes of The Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. The projects to date have included:
Phase I
Preparation of a complete site development plan for the Spirit Mountain Casino, a 50 acre gaming resort complex, including water and sewer systems, highway under-crossing, road access, parking, wetland delineation and utilities. This project included a separate on-site sewage treatment and disposal system as well as additional storage and distribution facilities for the community water system.
Subsequent Phases of Development
As an integral member of the design team, Mater Engineering was responsible for engineering design of all aspects of site development on two subsequent phases of the casino expansion, a fine dining restaurant, and a 100 room hotel. In addition, Mater has coordinated wetland mitigation projects and construction of a 7,000 square foot warehouse and satellite parking facilities.

USDA, Forest Service, Siuslaw National Forest (Indefinite Service Contract)
Mater Engineering has provided, for the past seven years, under an indefinite contract, professional engineering services to the Siuslaw National Forest in a variety of areas at various facilities for which the Forest Service is responsible.
The scope of these projects has included site planning, roadway improvements, sanitary sewer collection treatment and disposal systems, water distribution and grading plans. Site improvements often include wetlands preservation and mitigation, and specialized drainage and stormwater retention features. Mater Engineering has also coordinated the design of numerous structures such as restroom facilities, dormitory living and athletic facilities. Many of these projects have included the design of electrical, mechanical and structural components as well as space planning, lighting, communications, energy conservation.
The following is a brief listing of a few of our more than 65 projects completed for the Forest Service:

 Drift Creek Falls Suspension Bridge
|
Drift Creek Suspension Bridge
Design of a 240 foot span, suspended pedestrian bridge crossing a 100 feet deep canyon, overlooking a spectacular cascading waterfall in a Coast Range old growth reserve. The scope of work included coordination of survey and development of a terrain profile, detailed engineering design and preparation of technical specifications.
Dunes National Recreation Area
Provided engineering design of utility and site improvements at nine (9) campgrounds within the Dunes NRA. The scope of work included site planning, surveying, abandonment of an existing well and installation of a new well and 20,000 gallon reservoir and associated piping, sanitary collection, holding, and subsurface wastewater disposal facilities for individual campgrounds, power and water utilities and roadway improvements.
Angell Job Corps Wastewater Treatment Improvements
This project consisted of complete engineering design and preparation of technical specifications for expansion of on-site wastewater treatment plant facilities, development of a reclamation and reuse plan, and construction of a sprayfield wastewater disposal system, including coordination of WPCF permitting process with ODEQ.
Angell Job Corps Underground Utilities Project
This project consisted of complete engineering design and preparation of technical specification for construction of underground water, power, and communication utilities for the Angell Job Corps Center.

Fort Hoskins Historic Park
Mater Engineering recently completed the 125-acre Fort Hoskins Historic Park Project for Benton County Parks and Recreation Department. This project included comprehensive civil design services leading to preparation of plans and specifications for the construction of roadways, parking lots, ADA trail systems, site utilities, restroom and drainage improvements.
As part of the project, Mater Engineering developed a comprehensive base map consisting of a 2' contour interval map produced from stereo aerial photography. The master plan integrated the photographic image with planned interpretive elements, proposed infrastructure improvements, i.e. roadways, pedestrian trails, water distribution facilities, and field survey information. Mater Engineering also prepared a Sediment and Erosion Control Plan and completed the ODEQ1200-C permit application for the project. The project was completed on time and within budget.

Honeyman State Park Sewer Master Plan
|
Honeyman State Park Sewer Master Plan
Mater Engineering completed the Sewer Master Plan in July 1998 for the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The scope of work included a comprehensive evaluation of existing sewer system components and soils investigation. The master plan provides a detailed description of the existing collection, treatment, and disposal systems, addresses system deficiencies and provides a comprehensive plan for improvement of the sanitary sewer collection, treatment and disposal facilities to bring the systems into Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) compliance. As part of the project Mater Engineering prepared an application for the ODEQ Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) Permit. The project was completed on time and within budget.
